TEAM CAPTAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Captains will be assigned for a foursome on a rotating basis. The captain must:

1. Call each golfer in his group ASAP and tell them the tee time and remind them to arrive at least 30 minutes before it.

2. Obtain the official scorecard from the organizer of the tournament, find out from each player his handicap for the day, and record it on the scorecard.

3. Prepare a backup scorecard and have another member of the group keep it.

4. After each hole (on the next tee) have each player state his score and get it recorded on both cards. THE LARGEST SCORE THAT IS PUT ON THE CARD IS THE NCGA MAXIMUM.

5. Ensure the group keeps up with the group ahead at all times. Remind players of the guidelines for FAST PLAY as needed to keep up.

6. Ensure that the group shows golf courtesy so everyone can have an enjoyable round and that they take no risk that might endanger anyone.

7. Assist the group in following the correct rules of play. If in doubt, the Handicap Chairman can clarify the correct procedure.

8. Promptly at the completion of the round, total both scorecards, reconcile them if different, subtract the handicap strokes to the get the net total, and have two members of the group sign the official card.

9. Collect all the previous scorecards from the previous team captain.

10. Wait for the team captain of the following group, and give the scorecards to him. DO NOT LEAVE THE SCORECARDS ON THE TABLE!

(A member of the Handicap Committee will be playing in the last group and will collect all the score cards and do the scoring).
