“Microsoft Excel Features”

Presented by Dick Curry

Co-chairman Floyd Skelton opened the meeting and introduced prior chairman of the CUG, Chris Satterthwaite. Chris presented to Dick Curry a plaque honoring him for has years of service to the group.

Dick Curry then made a presentation on the Microsoft program EXCEL (see outline below) followed by a general Q & A period.

Dick also pointed out that he was using our new laptop computer for the first time today. The new speakers are also being tested. The new projector is in process of being delivered. Dick said that it would be here for the August meeting.

July’s meeting followed up on the June discussion on Microsoft Word.  Dick Curry emphasized the fact that Microsoft Excel has much in common with Word and that in many cases could be used instead of Word.  An outline of his presentation is included below.

1. Entering Data:  Text Strings, Mathematical Numbers, Formulas or Functions

2. Deleting Data:  Escape, Delete, Undo, redo, Clear Contents

3. Edit Data: Retype, Double-click in cell, Use Formula Bar

4. Data in Excess of Column Width
