Meeting Summary for January 19, 2012

Phil Goff opened the meeting at 9:00am.  Executive Committee members attending were Phil Goff, Neil Schmidt, Dick Curry, Jack Bevis, Bill Phelon, Jim Saavedra and Barry Brown. Total attendance was 54.

Phil started off with commentary about technology and all of the new stuff and gadgets that are coming at us: Windows 8 with touch screen, tablets, voice recognition for talking to our devices and Internet television, to name a few.

This all makes for many possible future CAT presentations. The first of which will be next month by Neil Schmidt on Internet Telephony.

Phil then briefly discussed club finances. They are in good shape. We try to keep a balance of about $1,000. The $5 monthly contribution covers the rent of the hall, coffee and cookies and miscellaneous expenses. When the balance builds up over $1000 the $5 is waived until it is back in line. That is why it was not collected in November or December. Phil commented that he had signed a new one-year lease with the lodge.

Barry Brown’s feature presentation for today is covered below. He calls it Color Management in a Digital Darkroom.

Barry Brown once again brought various articles and books as prizes for a raffle, which came next.
